What if I need to cancel my appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment we ask for 24-48 hours notice. This allows us to schedule another patient in your place. If an emergency arises, please give us as much notice as possible. Failure to show up to a scheduled appointment without notification may be subject a cancellation fee.

How long will my appointment take?

Medical appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes unless otherwise specified by your medical provider. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow our front desk staff to check you in and collect any copayment that is required by your insurance.

Do you accept my insurance?

Northwest Skin Specialists gladly accepts most major group insurance plans. If you are unsure if Northwest Skin Specialists is contracted with your insurance group or plan, please contact your insurance company directly for their current contracted provider list.

Do I need a referral?

Contact your insurance company to see if you plan requires a referral. Northwest Skin Specialists is a specialty practice and some insurance companies do require a referral from your primary care physician or provider in order to be seen for specialty care.

Can I bring my children or pets to my appointment?

Yes, your child/children can accompany you to your visit but they will need to go into the exam room with you. Depending on the nature of your visit, it is your choice whether to bring your children with you. Animals are not allowed without permits.

Is parking available?

Hourly parking is available in the base of our building in the Madison Street Garage. Cash or credit cards are accepted for parking fees to be paid as you exit the parking garage.

Do you see children?

We see children 12 and older. Some exceptions will be made depending on the reason for your child’s visit.

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?

If the reason for your visit will include an examination of your face then we recommend either coming to your appointment with no makeup on your skin or removing it before your appointment.

Do I need my records from my previous dermatologist?

Medical records from your previous dermatologist are helpful if you’ve had a history of skin cancer or if you have a chronic skin condition.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring you insurance card(s), photo identification and a form of payment if your insurance requires a co-pay or if you’ll be self paying for your appointment.

How do I refill my prescription?

For timely prescription refills, contact your pharmacy directly to request a refill. They will send us an electronic refill request which will result in the quickest turnaround time on your prescription refill.

What is your snow policy?

If Seattle public schools are closed Northwest Skin Specialists is closed.
