Cosmetic Services

Acne

At Northwest Skin Specialists, we treat all types of acne—from mild to severe, treatment-resistant acne. In addition to the many medical treatment options available, we also offer a wide array of cosmetic products and services.

Dermasweep

Dermasweep is a version of microdermabrasion that can control acne, refine enlarged pores, and improve the appearance of your skin. It uses a machine that gently exfoliates, while simultaneously infusing your skin with a medicated, acne-fighting solution. This simple, quick, and convenient procedure is non-invasive, with virtually no discomfort or downtime.

Laser and Filler Treatments

Acne is inflammatory and has the potential to destroy both skin and fat. Early scars look pink or brown and can take years to remodel and fade. If permanent acne scarring is a problem, laser skin resurfacing is an option you might want to consider. Fractionated laser technology can increase the formation of new collagen and help fill in acne scars. Injections of various fillers can also help soften indentations from deeper acne scars, but must be repeated periodically since the product reabsorbs over time.

Light Therapy

Phototherapeutic light painlessly enters the skin and targets acne-causing bacteria. This type of acne treatment requires two 15-minute sessions per week for about a month. Results are variable and temporary, and work best when combined with other acne measures. Unfortunately, it is not covered by many insurance plans.
