Dianne B. Thompson, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist whose special interests include psoriasis and melanoma. She brings years of clinical and research experience to her patients and considers it a privilege to collaborate in their care. Whether helping patients recognize a potential skin cancer, manage a rash, or understand their treatment options, Dr. Thompson takes the time to educate and empower her patients to participate in their care. She reviews their treatment plan periodically to make sure her patients’ concerns are addressed.
Dr. Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree in bacteriology at the University of Idaho. After teaching high school biology, she went on to complete her medical degree and residencies in internal medicine and dermatology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. During her final year of residency, Dr. Thompson engaged in research to improve the care of skin conditions in patients undergoing bone marrow transplants at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Dr. Thompson then entered private practice and, in 2004, she cofounded Northwest Skin Specialists.
Dr. Thompson has been voted a Top Doctor by Seattle Magazine. She continues to mentor medical students and family practice residents. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, as well as gardening, skiing, hiking, and cheering for Seattle sports teams.

Amy Sarkie, PA-C, together with Dr. Dianne Thompson, cofounded Northwest Skin Specialists in 2004. Her interests include general dermatology: skin cancer screenings, evaluation and treatment of rashes, warts/lesions, and a variety of other skin conditions. She has extensive experience in the treatment of acne and the management of isotretinoin (Accutane). Amy enjoys collaborating with her patients and strives to be a strong educator and advocate. She is an attentive listener and patients appreciate her warm and caring style.
Amy earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. She obtained her master of science as a physician assistant from the University of Detroit – Mercy, graduating first in her class. She was the distinguished recipient of the Clinical Excellence Award. Amy initially began her practice in family medicine, but after returning to Seattle in 2000, she focused in dermatology. She is nationally certified by the NCCPA in both primary care and surgery. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and a variety of other professional organizations.
In her spare hours, she cherishes time with her friends, family, and four grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, photography, bridge, and rooting for Seattle sports teams!

Richard B. Grabowski, MD, is a medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Meticulous in his approach to patient care, Dr. Grabowski stresses the importance of partnering with his patients. He provides them with the information they need to identify potential skin problems between office visits and even teaches spouses or family members to check for suspicious lesions that are difficult for his patients to see. He’s a firm believer that early treatment is essential for the best possible results and he offers his patients the information they need to be proactive in their care.
Dr. Grabowski provides in-office surgical and medical treatment for skin cancer. He helps his patients gain a thorough understanding of their diagnosis; offers his professional guidance, as a dermatological surgeon, on appropriate treatment; and he collaborates with local MOHS surgeons on the treatment of high-risk cancers. He also takes a collaborative approach to cosmetic dermatology, working closely with our staff cosmetic nurse. This team approach helps ensure his patients’ long-term skin health.
After earning his bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington, Dr. Grabowski completed his medical studies at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York and his residency training at Washington Hospital Center, in Washington, DC. He is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the American Academy of Dermatology. He joined Northwest Skin Specialists in 2004.

Robin Green Whipple, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who practices general medical and surgical dermatology, including the treatment of skin cancer, psoriasis, and acne. Dr. Whipple cultivates strong relationships with her patients, many of whom have been with her for years. She strives to be a valuable resource and advocate for her patients. In addition to providing treatment for a wide range of skin conditions, she offers the tools and information patients need to maintain good skin health. If patients are interested in cosmetic treatments, she offers unbiased information about safe, effective options, working closely with our staff cosmetic dermatology provider.
Dr. Whipple received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Washington State University. She went on to earn her medical degree at the University of Washington and completed her residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatologists, the Seattle Dermatological Society, Alpha Omega Alpha, and Phi Beta Kappa, and has practiced dermatology in Portland and Boston. She joined Northwest Skin Specialists in 2004.

Dan Lantz, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. He provides patients with a thorough approach to annual exams, and expert diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of skin conditions. He enjoys getting to know his patients, and strives to earn their trust. By explaining medical conditions and treatment options as clearly as possible, Dr. Lantz encourages his patients to engage in the decision-making process with informed confidence. As a dermatopathologist, he offers a high level of diagnostic skill, honed by years of preparing pathology reports for dermatologists from all over Washington State.
Dr. Lantz arrived at Northwest Skin Specialists in the spring of 2013, bringing with him decades of experience as a clinician and educator. He received his undergraduate degree in pharmacy and then his medical degree from the University of Washington. His dermatology residency was completed at the University of Washington where he was chief resident, and his fellowship training in dermpathology was completed at the University of Colorado. Dr Lantz has presented and lectured at numerous local, regional, and national dermatology and dermatopathology conferences. He is a clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he leads weekly conferences in dermatopathology for dermatology residents.
After practicing both clinical dermatology and dermatopathology in Seattle, Dr. Lantz moved his practice to the Eastside in 2000 to focus on pathology, joining with several partners to found Dermatopathology Northwest, Inc. He continued to provide patient care in clinical settings in Bellevue and Kirkland before joining Northwest Skin Specialists. An avid history buff, Dr Lantz enjoys boating, photography, travel, and spending time with his two daughters.

Dina de Guzman is a licensed and certified master aesthetician, a designation that requires more than 450 hours of cosmetic dermatology practice and completion of written and practical state licensing examinations. Dina is highly skilled and experienced in a wide range of cosmetic services including chemical peels, facials (using medical-grade products), and extractions. In addition, she is certified to treat patients with the Lumenis LightSheer laser hair removal system and the Exilis skin-tightening system.
Dina has worked as an aesthetician since 1998. She works closely with our medical team who first assess skin health. Cosmetic skin care and treatment is a collaborative effort and is individualized for each patient. She finds her work enormously satisfying, and derives her greatest satisfaction from the personal relationships she’s developed over the years.
A southern California native, Dina enjoys spending time with her family, reading and working out.

Johnna Millen is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She performs all cosmetic treatments: including Botox, Dysport, dermal fillers, lasers, and sclerotherapy. She also treats all dermatologic conditions, with special interest in treating acne, in both teenagers and adults, as well as skin cancer detection and prevention.
Johnna is originally from the east coast where she attended St. John Fisher College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, in nursing. Upon graduation, she joined the National Institute of Health, specializing in oncology and bone marrow transplants.
After earning her Master of Nursing degree at the University of Washington, she entered family practice. In 2001, she began her 15-year career in dermatology.
In her spare time, Johnna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and the arts.
